Our Projects
Forestry Forums
With generous support from the Alexander and Baldwin Foundation
The intent of this statewide project is to present four Forestry Forums for the general public, including youth, on the islands of Kaua`i, O`ahu, Mau`i and Hawai`i from April 2009 to May 2010. The Hawai`i Forest Institute uses a broad-brush and enjoyable approach to lead discussions, emphasize successful partnerships and promote public awareness of current forestry and forestry-related efforts.
The Forestry Forums strengthen awareness of forest management projects and explore how these efforts and partnerships make an important difference to the natural environments and communities of the Hawaiian Islands.
Topics are of local interest at each location and are inclusive of forestry subject areas such as watershed protection, dryland forest restoration, propagation and reforestation and positive community impact and economic development. Please join us as we explore Hawaii's forest environments!
