Our Projects
The Hawai`i Forest Institute is dedicated to the success of a number of ongoing projects that bring the organization's mandate to the public in a tangible and worthwhile way.
The Hawai`i Forest Journal is the Institute's baseline for providing well-researched information on all aspects of forests and forestry in Hawai`i. The Forestry Forums have been created to provide statewide sessions for the general public about the ecosystem services that trees and Hawaii's forests provide.
Through support of ongoing outreach efforts at Ka'upulehu Dryland Forest, students learn more about the connections of mauka and makai environments and the need for stewardship of Hawaii's forest environments. Some of these students may go on to seek a career in forestry. Keeping this in mind, the Institute has established the Tommy Crabb Scholarship Fund.
The Board, staff and volunteers of HFI continue to work on these exciting projects throughout the year.
We also connect to--and stay informed about the many projects throughout Hawai`i that are improving our forest environments. Join us as we explore these exciting statewide projects.
