What's So Special About the Hawai`i Forest Institute?
There are the people. The staff, board and volunteers involved with the Hawai`i Forest Institute represent many different sectors. They all have one thing in common--an appreciation for the direct connection between sound environmental stewardship and responsible natural resource management.
...there are the ideas. Like the Hawai`i Forest Journal. Now in its third year the Hawai`i Forest Journal is the only publication of its kind keeping the public informed about the many aspects of forestry in Hawai`i. This, as well as HFI's other projects are all aimed at bringing well researched and current information about Hawaii's forests to the public.
...and most importantly--there's you - the student, volunteer, sponsor, donor, educator and industry professional-- bringing your expertise to the success of HFI's projects.
